TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A delegation from the Japanese Standing Committee on Environment visited the Jakarta Recycle Center (JRC) in South Jakarta, on Thursday, August 1, 2024. The visit aims to strengthen cooperation and friendly relations between Japan and Indonesia in the field of environment, especially waste management.
Head of the Jakarta Environmental Office, Asep Kuswanto, said Jakarta continues to strive to improve the quality of environmental management by learning from Japan. He also expressed his gratitude to the Japanese Government for its continuous support.

2. Prabowo Subianto Confirms Attendance in Jokowi-led Cabinet Meeting at New Capital
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Defense Minister and President-elect Prabowo Subianto confirmed that he will attend the upcoming Cabinet Meeting in Nusantara Capital City or IKN. The plenary meeting will take place at the newly adorned Garuda Palace in the new capital in East Kalimantan on August 12, 2024.
"Of course, I will (attend the meeting)," said Prabowo briefly at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta before meeting President Joko Widodo or Jokowi on Friday, August 2, 2024.

3. Indonesian Govt Allots Rp90 billion for Resident Compensation at New Capital Project
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Minister of Public Works and Housing Basuki Hadimuljono said the government has prepared a budget of around Rp90 billion for residents affected by the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) development project. The compensation is intended for land owners that will be used for the toll road section 6a and 6b projects, as well as the Sepaku flood control project.
"It’s been processed by the integrated team," said Basuki on Friday, August 2, 2024.
Basuki explained that the government had cooked up a Social Impact Management (PDSK) Plus scheme by preparing relocation housing for the residents. At least 91 families would receive this compensation. However, President Jokowi then signed Presidential Regulation Number 75 of 2024 concerning the Acceleration of IKN Development.
