Texas mother is accused of murdering daughter, 11, on Christmas Day in unspeakably cruel way

A mother has been arrested complete accusations she cruelly murdered her 11-year-old girl successful Texas connected Christmas Day 3 years ago. 

Harper Butler was recovered unresponsive astatine her location in Denison by emergency services - she was not breathing and did not person a pulse. 

She was taken to nan section infirmary wherever she pronounced dead, and her mother Candice Cooper claimed she accidently ingested her prescribed methadone.

But past period authorities wished nan 39-year-old 'intentionally administered' nan drug.

Cooper was arrested Friday connected execution charges and is in Grayson County Jail. Her enslaved has been group astatine $1million.

Police were called to Harper's location connected December 25, 2021 arsenic she became unresponsive.

First responders recovered she was not breathing and did not person a beat truthful she was rushed to hospital.

But she died and her mother Cooper claimed it was arsenic a consequence of accidently ingesting her prescribed methadone.

Detectives received further accusation about Harper's past period and began an investigation into Cooper.

'In June of 2024, detectives received further accusation that nan mother of nan kid had intentionally administered nan methadone to Harper.' Denison Police Public Information Officer Haley Banks said.

She added that Cooper was interviewed again and she admitted to giving her girl nan methadone and knowing it could beryllium fatal.

'Detectives of nan Denison Police Department secured a warrant for Cooper and she was subsequently arrested for charges of murder,' Banks said.

Cooper was taken to the Grayson County Jail wherever she is awaiting a tribunal date.
