BMKG Forecasts Jakarta to Rain All Day, Thunderstorm Warning at Night

TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) forecasts rain for most of Jakarta today, Monday, July 8, 2024. According to the weather agency, the rain in Jakarta will last all day.

BMKG weather forecast reported that Central Jakarta, West Jakarta, and East Jakarta are covered in thick clouds this morning and around noon. Meanwhile, the rest of Jakarta is greeted by a drizzle in the morning. 

Rain will befall all of Jakarta in the afternoon and evening with varying intensity. Only Central Jakarta will get a drizzle.

The Jakarta air temperature today ranges from 25 to 32 degrees Celsius with an air humidity level of 80-90 percent. 

BMKG detects thunderstorm potential in West Jakarta, Central Jakarta, and North Jakarta this evening. Winds blow from northeast to southeast at a speed of 5 to 20 kilometers per hour.

Aside from Jakarta, Bekasi and Cikarang are expected to experience thunderstorms on Monday afternoon. At the same time, medium-intensity rain will fall in Bogor and Depok and subsides in the evening. Most of Greater Jakarta is expected to be cloudy in the early hours of Tuesday.
