TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The aftermath of the deadly attacks carried out by Israel against Palestine has drawn criticism from a number of parties around the world. One of the criticisms called for is a boycott of Israeli products that are widely marketed, including technology products.

As a form of protest, the dunia community is calling for a boycott of products from Israel. In this effort, the "Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions" (BDS) Movement was born. This movement seeks to end international support for Israel's oppression of Palestinians and pressure Israel to comply with international law.

In Indonesia itself, there are a number of Israeli-affiliated technology products, which are now people calling for a boycott. So, what are Israel's technology products that are widely used in Indonesia?

1. Waze

Waze is a navigation application developed by Israel since 2008. Waze has been downloaded more than 100 million times via the Google Play Store. This application is community-based, helping users reach their goals through real-time road traffic reports and up-to-date maps.

According to the description on the official app, Waze provides live reports on traffic, construction, accidents, police and a host of other information. Starting from route changes to avoid traffic jams, real-time security updates, to low petrol price notifications.

2. Intel Microprocessor

Intel Israel began operations in 1974 and became the development and manufacturing center of Intel Corporation. Intel develops and produces digital technologies and integrated and connected computing platforms.

According to the official website intel.com, Intel in Israel focuses on two main areas, namely development and manufacturing. Israel is home to the world's largest Intel development center. For example, the 7th and 8th Generation Intel® Core™ processors are generally developed in Israel.

3. Hewlett Packard or HP Inc

The BDS Movement said technology company HP Inc provided services to the offices of war leaders in Israel. For example, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu and Finance Minister Smotrich. HP is also said to have played an important role in the war, providing computer equipment to the Israeli army and managing government info centers.

HP also operates the Aviv System, which is the Israeli Population and Immigration Authority's computerized database. This system allows Israel to collect information about illegal settlements in Palestine.

4. Siemens

The next technology product affiliated with Israel is a German company called Siemens. According to the BDS Movement, Siemens is involved in plans to build the EuroAsia Interconnector. This underwater power cable will connect illegal Palestinian settlements with the European power grid. This allows Siemens to take advantage of the Israeli-European Union trade in electricity produced from fossil gas.
