Indonesia’s Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan said the government would impose import duties on seven imported commodities from various countries.
"We decided to (impose duties) on seven commodities in the limited meeting chaired by President (Joko Widodo) yesterday. Those goods are textiles, ready-made garments, ceramics, electronics, cosmetics, finished textile products, and footwear,” Zulkifli Hasan said on Saturday, July 6, 2024.

2. Indonesia's Bulog Claims as 'Victim' of Allegation for Mark-Up of Rice Import from Vietnam
The Indonesian food distribution state-owned corporation Bulog claimed to have been the victim of “marking up” allegations on rice imports from Vietnam, which was reported to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
“Bulog is the victim of this baseless report which was intended to form bad opinions (on Bulog),” said Bulog Corporate Secretary Arwakhudin Widiarso in a statement in Jakarta, on Sunday, July 7, 2024.

3. Over 4,200 Houses Flooded After Extreme Downpours Hit West Java's Cirebon
Cirebon Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) recorded at least 4,269 houses flooded due to the extreme downpours that hit several areas in the region since Saturday, July 6, 2024. Over 16,310 people or 5,443 households were affected by the flood, BPBD reported.
Head of the Disaster Data, Information, and Communication Center at the National Disaster Management Agency, Abdul Muhari, said the flooding was caused by overflows of several major rivers in the regions, namely Wangan Ayam, Pembuang Posong, Winong, Jonggol, and Sriganala.
